What is SEO? And How it works?
SEO Stands for Search engine optimization, and according to Wikipedia it is "the process of affecting the online visibility of a website or a web page in a web search engine's unpaid results—often referred to as natural, organic, or earned results."
Why you should consider great SEO on your website?
Let's start with a fact that Google processes over 40,000 search queries every
SECOND. Let's consider "cat shop" keyword to keep numbers more relevant, for me just
knowing that Google is doing "over 3.5 billion searches per day" make me want to
clean my glasses one more time!!
So, "cat shop" will get almost 90500 monthly searches, and if your website link is the first in Google first page! this will get you according to some statistics around 20% of the traffic this is around 18100. Do you see where I'm going from here? So is it a nice number right! NO, it will be if you think that every visit can be transferred into $1, now you can say that your website and because of your good SEO got you over $18K a month.
Don't forget that we didn't consider Yahoo, Bing, and other search engines.
How does SEO Work?
Well, it's definitely not random, and I can assure you guys it's not a type voodoo or magic spells like the ones we saw in Harry Potter. it all starts with what we call "Crawlers" and no it's not the Night Crawlers. those Crawlers actually works day and night 24/7. Search engine crawlers are small bots (code) that visit every and each web page in your website, copy all the pieces of it and return back to the search engine. over there your website will be index.
A lot of factors after that decide where your web page/website link will show in the search engine result pages. some of those factors are called on page optimizations, which is related to what you include in your web page content, and code. Other factors are called off page optimization which is included in how your website is linked and related to other websites.
In the end, I can say SEO number 1 hint, tip, trick, and secret, in my opinion, is: "be ganione to your audience" when you don't provide good content, or you put a description or title that is not related to the content of your page. trust me no technical work, on-page or off-page will help you get your website to rank in Google or any other search engine.
